Problem:
Users already work in Claude, Grok, Cursor, and ChatGPT. A product that is not listed as a connector does not get called when someone asks the assistant to do the job. The user stays in the chat. Your UI never opens. Distribution has moved into the assistant, and the old “we have an API” slide does not get you invoked.
Shipping a working MCP server is only half of the problem. Each marketplace has its own review, naming, auth, and capability story. A server that works on a laptop can fail listing for a missing privacy note, a vague tool description, or an OAuth path that does not match what the host expects. Teams burn a quarter discovering that the protocol was the easy part.
There is also a product question hiding under the integration question. A connector that exposes every internal endpoint is a liability. A connector that exposes one job the assistant can finish is a feature. Deco Agent Network taught us to put capabilities behind manifests and explicit contracts. The same discipline applies when the host is Claude or Cursor instead of our own node.
Approach:
Carbonology develops the MCP servers and connectors, then handles setup and marketplace submissions so the product can be invoked from those tools. We start from the job a user would ask an assistant to perform, then we expose the smallest set of tools that can finish that job without handing over the rest of the account.
Implementation covers the server, the auth story, and the descriptions the host will show a model. Models choose tools from prose. Vague names and leftover internal jargon are how you get unused listings. We write the tool surface the way we write service pages: what it does, what it needs, what it will not do.
Submission is part of the engagement, not a footnote. Anthropic, OpenAI, Cursor, and xAI each have a different door. We prepare the listing copy, the required URLs, and the review checklist, and we stay through the back-and-forth. If you do not yet have an API, the honest first project is often design and build or agent systems, not a marketplace listing. We will say so.
